Collectors often get caught in up staying with the new and hot products that drop on a weekly basis, and in doing so, forget what still awaits them in unopened packs, boxes, sets, and cases of previous releases.

The sheer number of new products being released regularly along with the amount of cards available from past issues is astronomical. This can make it easy for even the most astute collectors to forget about some products here and there. Before you know it, amazing sets on sitting on shelves in hobby shops or other retail locations across the country for months, even years, after their initial release.

This is where we come in. Cardboard Castaways is designed to re-inform collectors of past releases that are worth revisiting for a variety of reasons.

Today, we take a look back at…

2013 Topps Heritage High Number Baseball Sets

Reason Selected: We selected the 2013 Topps Heritage High Number Baseball complete sets due to the fact that many of the game’s top young talents have rookie cards in this product. While the print run was never officially announced, it does seem that more were produced in 2013 than in 2012 when only 1,000 sets were made. Originally offered as an online exclusive, finding these can be somewhat of a task especially when one of the rookies inside gets hot!
