Earlier today, Panini America revealed the actual print runs for some of the key short prints (SPs) in 2016 Panini Contenders Football. Until now, print runs for these cards were only speculative. But, now that they’re official, it may be time to go hunting for these hard-to-find autographs!
From the Knight’s Lance:
Last week’s lickety-split sellout of 2018 Contenders Football’s “1st Off The Line” edition offered a vivid reminder that the hobby edition of 2018 Contenders Football will arrive soon in hobby shops across North America. Obviously, when it comes to the landmark Contenders product, the primary drivers of the product every year are the Rookie Ticket Autographs RCs and the relative scarcity of Short Prints, Super Short Prints and variations.
Over the last several years, Panini America officials have released general information regarding SPs and SSPs but nothing definitive in terms of exact print runs. But this year, that’s changing in a big way as Product Development Director Rob Springs has decided to remove any ambiguity and release actual print runs of all key SPs — and not just with 2018 Contenders Football, either. Springs is taking this numbers game all the way back to 2015. As we countdown to the early January release of 2018 Contenders Football, we’ll reveal those numbers from the last three seasons here on The Knight’s Lance. We began last week with a breakdown of 2015 Contenders Football. Today, we’re bringing 2016 Contenders Football under the microscope.
Enjoy the numbers and stay tuned for the 2017 Contenders Football reveal in the coming days.
